रुद्राष्टाध्यायी पंचम अध्याय
इसे शुक्लयजुर्वेदीय रुद्राष्टाध्यायी भी कहते हैं। रुद्राष्टाध्यायी दो शब्द रुद्र अर्थात् शिव और अष्टाध्यायी अर्थात् आठ अध्यायों वाला, इन आठ अध्यायों में शिव समाए हैं। वैसे तो रुद्राष्टाध्यायी में कुल दस अध्याय हैं परंतु आठ तक को ही मुख्य माना जाता है |
सर्वदेवात्मको रुद्र: सर्वे देवा: शिवात्मका:।
रुद्रात्प्रवर्तते बीजं बीजयोनिर्जनार्दन:।।
यो रुद्र: स स्वयं ब्रह्मा यो ब्रह्मा स हुताशन:।
ब्रह्मविष्णुमयो रुद्र अग्नीषोमात्मकं जगत्।।
यह श्लोक बताता है कि रूद्र ही ब्रह्मा, विष्णु है सभी देवता रुद्रांश है और सबकुछ रुद्र से ही जन्मा है। इससे यह सिद्ध है कि रुद्र ही ब्रह्म है, वह स्वयम्भू है |
